PROJECT "HORSE ON THE STAIRS"
G. Rumyantsev, Lawyer, Serpukhov
Often, when thinking through a complicated problem where an unordinary, unexpected solution is required, you stop in your work, not knowing how to find that solution, how to move forward. The correct answer, an original move, may be delayed for a long time but the plans of execution do not wait, perhaps it is holding up the work of a large collective. Of course, you are not distracted from the problem, you think through it from various angles, but the desired result does not emerge.
A project for the stimulation of such a solution is proposed below. It is necessary to switch your tense working brain to the solution of a problem no less complex and difficult to execute moreover the risk and consequences if this problem is not executed would be commensurable with the lack of solution to your main problem. An inventor and designer often do not realize that in the stoppages in his creativity it is often not the flaws of his imagination or his knowledge that are to blame, but rather the stable, albeit positive but unchanging situation at work and at home. The circumstances, the situation repeating daily, unconsciously slow down the creative process which often requires sharp shifts, dislocations.
The project "A Horse on the Stairs" foresees two circumstances simultaneously in order to move forward the "machine of creativity": it creates an absolutely extreme, critical situation, and at the same time it stimulates extraordinary activity of the consciousness, forcing it to solve the more complex problem in a short time. You should rent for a short time a horse from some equestrian center, transport it to the entrance to your building, and force it to climb the stairs to the landing on your floor (it will be comparatively easy to do this, any horse will easily climb stairs), and leave it there for a while. The consequences, as you can anticipate, will not force you to wait. All the residents of your building, especially the neighbors who share your landing, will demand, under the threat of summoning the police, that you immediately remove this horse that has appeared in the building for some unknown purpose. But before you, as the guilty party in this event, will emerge an unexpected problem demanding an unordinary solution: the thing is that the horse which has easily climbed the stairs, cannot and doesn't know how to descend the stairs on account of its narrowness and the angle of any inside staircase.
If you find a solution (and in the shortest possible time period), then you can expect that the resolution to your other problem will not force you to wait.
PROJECT "HORSE ON THE STAIRS"
1. Take a black-and-white photograph (slightly discolored), depicting a horse standing on a stairwell landing. The doors to the apartments are locked. There are no people: around (cf. sketch). The stairs should be in an old respectable house. Make the photograph like a collage (glue the depiction of the horse onto the landing), but do it all in such a way that it all appears authentic.
2. Put the photograph in a frame with a cross-section thickness of 1.5 x 1.5 cm and paint it white.
