SUITE OF WORLD MUSIC
A. Satiukov, Music teacher, Moscow In a public space at the intersection of commercial highways, at the site of intensive business activity, a "suite of world music" is being constructed - a series or big rooms following one anoth- er so it is possible to walk through them. The music of only one epoch resounds in each room: Renaissance, German music of the 16th-17th centuries, Viennese school, contemporary. The listener can linger in one of the rooms, immersing himself in the music, or he can keep going, passing by the people sitting in the arm- chairs. To increase concentration, a large painting stands at the back of the room, the subject of which corresponds to the style of music of this epoch. There are 12 such rooms, and they are specifically placed in business and commercial centers so a per- son might be distracted from his daily problems and interact with the sublime, liberating himself from the burden or everyday life.
